Toulon Yacht Charter Guide | Yachts Below

Toulon is positioned on the western end of the South of France in Provence making it a convenient city and coastline for a luxury Toulon yacht charter. Toulon is fantastic for both motor yachts and sailing yachts and so a decent number of crewed superyachts visit the area, taking in some of the unique coastal offerings, as they move along the French coastline and the wider Mediterranean. This part of France is positioned between some of the Spanish yachting hotspots like the Balearic Islands of Mallorca and Ibiza and the French Riviera hotspots of St Tropez and Monaco. Accordingly, there are always a good number of charter yachts available to rent/hire in summer, priced from 15,000 Euro, right up to over 1,000,000 Euro. There are also typically yacht charter specials available – see below.

What You Can see on a Toulon Luxury Yacht Charter

Step back in time and tour the quaint city of Toulon, rich with culture and a destination for private luxury yacht guests looking to experience the French Riviera at the less frenetic Provence pace. Among the city's religious sites is the stately Cathedrale Notre-Dame-De-La-Seds de Toulon, which if visited on a Sunday will give you the full authentic atmosphere as churchgoers sing along in chorus to the grand church organ. Another finely decorated venue is the Opera de Toulon which is centrally located for an evening of delight, performing the greatest operas of all time.

The pedestrian district of Old Town is well suited to wanderers who like to find the sights for themselves instead of always planning ahead: Fountains of various shapes and sizes are scattered thought the streets and the Provençal market takes place every morning to sell locally-made products.

In 2009 Toulon was France's 15th largest city, yet despite being quite far down the list it has some impressive and varied attractions: Among the numerous museums is Musée des arts asiatiques from the French colonisation of southeast Asia, Musée d'art and Hôtel des arts, the latter being dedicated to contemporary artists and exhibiting five times a year.

Those interested in seafaring will enjoy the exhibits at Musee National de la Marine, which informs visitors on the city's historic influence on the waves. Displays are written in French, English and Spanish, and at the time of writing free audio guides are also available in several languages.

Away from the shops, top-class restaurants and galleries, guests can ride in glass-bottomed cable cars up to Telepherique du Mont Faron for the panoramic views and walks to local landmarks.

If your yacht charter group is simply looking for a day on land, Toulon has plenty of gardens where you can sit and admire the flowers, or discover the city's charms off the well-beaten path. Catch the latest local and international films in the cinema and settle into a local cafe for French patisseries and delicious cups of coffee.
