Île Sainte-Marguerite Yacht Charters, France

Île Sainte-Marguerite (Island of St Marguerite) is just 15 minutes south of Cannes and is an excellent addition to any private superyacht charter along the Cote d'Azur. This unspoiled island offers an underdeveloped natural escape from the crowds that are always to be found along the main coastline in the height of the Mediterranean charter season, with plenty of room for getting out the motorised water toys or spending a relaxing day with the family along the shore. So, what's to do in the glorious part of France?

Of the few man-made attractions on the island, guests can visit Musee de la Mer within Fort Royal, which famously held The Man in the Iron Mask in the 17th Century.

There are plenty of dive sites where guests can see the French Riviera’s thriving wildlife and vibrant corals, while guests looking for a relaxing fishing expedition have a wide variety of fish to catch from the comfort of their luxury yacht.

Although guests can disembark at the port of Embarcadère, superyachts typically anchor on the south side of the island in Plateau de Milieu. This popular spot between Île Sainte-Marguerite and Île Saint-Honorat is excellent for water sports and for beaches such as Petite Plage Sainte Marguerite.

There are numerous smaller beaches along the south side of the island, however to have the area all to yourself, visiting outside the height of the summer season is recommended. 

The trails across Île Sainte-Marguerite are shaded by pine umbrella and eucalyptus forests that scent the summer air offer another easy nature activity charter guests can do with family members of all ages. After taking to the island's trails, spend an afternoon relaxing in the sundeck Jacuzzi before partying the night away in privacy with the glittering city of Cannes sparkling on the horizon.

The weather offers stable temperatures throughout the year and the height of summer in July sees an average of 23°C/73°F. July is also the driest month, with the wettest being October continuing into November.

During the summer months there is a superb 70% chance of sunshine without cloud cover during the daytime hours. Temperatures enter the 20s/70s in May and remain warm throughout the afternoon until late September/early October. For the evenings, guests should take an extra layer as the winds feel cooler after sundown.
