Sailing yacht PRINCE OF ATHENS ( ex PRINCE DE NEUFCHATEL) is a unique motor sailer, built in 1967 by the Dutch shipyard Akerrboom Jahtweft. Measuring 25m (83.25ft), the yacht can accommodate 6 guests in 3 deluxe en-suite cabins and can host up to 45 guests during the day. Charter yacht PRINCE OF ATHENS underwent a complete rebuild in 2007 and boasts top of the range amenities whilst still retaining the elegant styling of traditional ships.

PRINCE OF ATHENS has a sophisticated interior, the panels are a rich deep tone, crisp white soft furnishings complement the ambience, teak and holly floors feature intricate detailing and fine craftsmanship throughout boast quality and class.

Outdoor spaces are key to life on board. The large open-air deck, made of the highest quality teak wood, is ideal for relaxing in one of the sunbeds and preparing the body & soul for a dip in the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea.

Charter yacht PRINCE OF ATHENS has a beam of 6m (19.7ft) and a draft of 2.5m (8.2ft), she is powered by one 230HP ROLLS ROYCE engine.

A BIT OF INTRIGUING HISTORY:
Built-in New York by Adam and Noah Brown in a typical body plan of the American Privateers, she was one of the fastest ships of the United States army in the war of 1812.
In 1814, she was chased 17 times by British men-of-war and she outran them every time.
After a triumphant victory against the British navy, she returned to Boston and when she sailed again in December of 1814, she was fully crewed with 120 men under Nicolas Millin, she was chased through a severe gale by three British frigates. The Prince (Neufchatel) lost the spars in the chase and so was taken.
Sir George Collier was so impressed with her sailing speed (13 knots), she sent her to England where she was measured for copying.

Accommodation includes two deluxe double cabins with a queen-sized bed each and one twin cabin with two single berths. There is wall-to-wall carpeting in all accommodation. A crew of 3-4 is placed separately for additional privacy of guests. In-room amenities include a living room and a dining area with kitchen facilities for private cooking.
