Micronesia

Found off the remote Western Pacific Ocean, Micronesia yacht charters provide an exciting and rare superyacht destination with many attractions. Micronesia is officially made up of four island states, namely Kosrae, Chuuk, Yap and Pohnpei. Here there are more than 600 islands to explore, which makes them ideal for yachting. Many are known for their beautiful white sandy beaches, ancient ruins and shipwrecks under the ocean. This part of the world has great beach weather, so drop anchor close to Mantra Ray Bay, YAP, Outrigger, Guam or Nautilus Resort, Kosrae.

When on a superyacht charter in Micronesia you can even soak up some history. Check out the sunken basalt temples, Nan Madol and the many burial vaults that can be found in the lagoon on Pohnpei. There’s a huge amount of interesting remains from Micronesia’s colonial past here too. The Spanish Wall is an outer boundary to a baseball pitch now, however the wall was originally the ramparts of the Fort Alphonso XII which was erected following a local uprising.

For superyacht visitors, there’s no time to be bored. Explore magnificent waterfalls and swim in the plunge pools in Kepirohi and Sahwartik. They are two of the most beautiful. Kolonia is only a 20-minute ride away where there’s a large natural pool and the tranquil Nanpil River. There are the Twin Waterfalls at Liduduhniap to see too. If you’re feeling energetic, how about a hike to the summit of Sokehs Mountain. From the top, admire the breath-taking views, diverse bird life and tropical vegetation. Along Japanese Road there are anti-aircraft guns, a searchlight platform and the remains of a power station. 

Spend a night or two on Black Coral Island which is in a lagoon behind Pohnpei’s barrier reef. This secluded islet hasn’t been touched by modernity and has thatched huts to shelter in.
