TRUE NORTH

True North is one of the finest modern and luxurious Expedition cruise ships of its type in Australia. Commissioned in 2005, this 49m (163′ 8″) motor yacht can accommodate a maximum of 36 guests in 18 staterooms and can cruise with up to 150 guests. Purpose designed and built for exploring Australia’s remote coastal waters and beyond to Papua New Guinea (PNG), she is both well equipped and comfortable.

Luxury motor yacht TRUE NORTH carries six expedition tenders ensuring that charterers can explore pristine wilderness areas up close in intimate groups and to add yet another dimension to the adventure, she sails complete with her very own six-seat Bell 407 helicopter which will open up the Kimberley and other exciting destinations usually not possible.

Travelling by helicopter in air-conditioned comfort you will have a unique opportunity to witness the grandeur of wild landscapes in the Australian Kimberley which is a region untouched by travel and tourism, or perhaps even use the chopper as a quick transfer to the city when chartering in any other of her exciting destinations.

TRUE NORTH is based in the spectacular Kimberley region of NW Australia from March to September each year. During early October, she heads west of the Kimberley out to the remote, coral atolls of the Rowley Shoals and associated reefs. In late October, TRUE NORTH travels across the top of Australia from Darwin to Cairns before embarking on a season in the idyllic islands of Papua New Guinea during November and December. From late December through January TRUE NORTH may be available for charter in such destinations as the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney, New Zealand, Tasmania and other approved destinations throughout Australasia. February is usually set aside for annual refit in Perth, Western Australia.

A maximum of 36 guests are accommodated in a choice of three cabin styles. (Superior King, King or Twin). Each cabin has en suite facilities, in-house entertainment and direct dial satellite telephones. Most Staterooms contain king size beds which can be converted to singles and have large viewing windows. The Twin cabins provide large roomy single beds and 2 portholes provide natural light.

TRUE NORTH has large panoramic windows, is equipped with state-of-the-art maritime systems, an Internet cafe, and an observation lounge which overlooks the bow and provides commanding views of the vessel’s destination. TRUE NORTH also has a unique indoor/outdoor bar which is the perfect place for a sunset cocktail as the onboard chefs prepare fine meals to be served in the spacious and fully air-conditioned dining lounge.
