With less than eight weeks to go until the soft-opening of Karpaz Gate Marina, the first-ever luxury marina in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), anticipation has been building among yachting enthusiasts around the world, including those who have signed up to be among the first to use the marina’s berthing facilities.
Master Yachts have opened a refit management office in STP shipyard in the Port of Palma. This operations office expands Master Yachts’ presence in Palma and will be an onsite base for refit project managers as well as providing office and meeting facilities for Captains and crew of yachts in the port.

Karpaz Gate Marina Ltd, the new luxury marina based in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), has filled the key management position of Harbour Master ahead of the marina’s forthcoming completion and soft-launch in May 2011. The new recruit, Captain Deniz Akaltan, will officially take responsibility for the management of the marina from May although will begin working with Sea-Alliance Group – the marina management team – immediately.

Owners of the soon-to-be-completed Karpaz Gate Marina in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), part of the Karpaz Bay Resort, have announced plans for a new luxury hotel and beach club on the site.
As result of strategic support given by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Lymington-based composite yacht builder, Green Marine, is to move its production facilities to Hythe Marine Park.
The Karpaz Gate Marina in Northern Cyprus is expected to be completed in May next year, and will offer berths for 300 yachts, including 16 for superyachts up to 65m (213ft) in length.
Perini Navi Sailing yacht Andromeda La Dea arrived at the Pendennis Shipyard for her winter refit at the beginning of November and is undergoing work for her 20 year ABS survey. The 47m Superyacht Andromeda La Dea was the first Perini Navi to circumnavigate the globe, and has visited both the Antarctic and the Arctic.
Sailing yacht Kaori, the 125 foot schooner built by Palmer Johnson in 1991 is back in the water, rigs in, and currently undergoing sea trials in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand after an extensive 12 month refit. S/Y Kaori is likely to be ready to head offshore around 16 November.
