Karpaz Gate Marine appoints Captain Deniz Akaltan as Harbour Master

Karpaz Gate Marina Ltd, the new luxury marina based in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), has filled the key management position of Harbour Master ahead of the marina’s forthcoming completion and soft-launch in May 2011. The new recruit, Captain Deniz Akaltan, will officially take responsibility for the management of the marina from May although will begin working with Sea-Alliance Group – the marina management team – immediately.

Motor Yacht Audacia arrives at Pendennis for 2m stern extension

Following the success of MY Illusion’s refit including a 5m stern extension in 2010, the 46.5m Feadship Audacia has just arrived at Pendennis for similar structural enhancement including a 2m extension and remodelling. Pendennis developed the new structural designs in close collaboration with Joanne de Guardiola Design, Inc. who provided the overall concepts and design styling.

Karpaz Bay Marina announce plans for luxury hotel and beach club

Owners of the soon-to-be-completed Karpaz Gate Marina in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), part of the Karpaz Bay Resort, have announced plans for a new luxury hotel and beach club on the site.

Green Marine to relocate production facility to Hythe Marine Park

As result of strategic support given by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Lymington-based composite yacht builder, Green Marine, is to move its production facilities to Hythe Marine Park.

Karpaz Gate Marina, a Superyacht Marina and refit centre in Northern Cyprus to open in 2011.

The Karpaz Gate Marina in Northern Cyprus is expected to be completed in May next year, and will offer berths for 300 yachts, including 16 for superyachts up to 65m (213ft) in length.

Pendennis busy with superyacht builds and refits

Perini Navi Superyacht Andromeda la Dea arrives at Pendennis for winter refit

Perini Navi Sailing yacht Andromeda La Dea arrived at the Pendennis Shipyard for her winter refit at the beginning of November and is undergoing work for her 20 year ABS survey. The 47m Superyacht Andromeda La Dea was the first Perini Navi to circumnavigate the globe, and has visited both the Antarctic and the Arctic.

Sailing yacht Kaori by Palmer Johnson completes Refit in New Zealand

Sailing yacht Kaori, the 125 foot schooner built by Palmer Johnson in 1991 is back in the water, rigs in, and currently undergoing sea trials in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand after an extensive 12 month refit. S/Y Kaori is likely to be ready to head offshore around 16 November.
