Wally Yachts and the Financial Times have joined forces to launch a new Maxi Yacht racing series. The FT Wally Grand Prix Series is a unique series of races for the world’s largest fleet of Maxi racing yachts. The racing teams feature sailing’s premier talent from the America’s Cup and the Olympics together with some of the most prominent captains of industry. The series takes place between April and October, moving between the Mediterranean’s most glamorous and vibrant sailing locations.
The world renowned waters of Sardinia’s Porto Cervo will be the venue for the 2011 Audi TP52 World Championships as the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) hosts to the regatta from the 2nd to the 8th of October. The last time that the TP52 World Championships were hosted on these waters was the 2007 edition, won by Sweden’s Torbjorn Tornqvist ‘s Artemis.

The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) is pleased to announce that it has selected the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands as its Caribbean base. The inauguration date for YCCS Virgin Gorda is scheduled for March 2011, in conjunction with the inaugural Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous.
A fleet of 30 elegant Oyster sailing yachts took to the waters off Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda for the first day of racing in the Oyster Jubilee Regatta which is the 25th event in the Oyster Regatta series hosted for the first time by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. Racing started on schedule on a stunning 15 mile coastal course under azure blue sky with a warm breeze.

Oyster Jubilee Regatta started today at the Porto Cervo in Sardinia, Italy. The event is hosted by the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo.
The standings for the Rolex Swan Cup in Sardinia were left unchanged from Friday’s finishes. In the Maxi Class A, Danilo Salsi’s Swan 90 DSK Pioneer Investment (ITA) led. In Grand Prix Class B, Piet Hein Baker’s Silveren Swaen (NED), a Swan 53, ended the week first. In the Sparkman & Stephens Class C, Peter Simon’s Swan 65 Monsoon Jaguar(GBR) won and in the ClubSwan 42 Class, it was Enrico Scerni on Kora 4(ITA) who repeated his win of 2008.
