Asia’s first-ever superyacht shows, the Singapore Yacht Show heralds a bright future ahead for regional industry. More than 3,000 highly qualified visitors from all over South East Asia enjoyed a three-day presentation of the luxury yachting lifestyle at the first edition of the Singapore Yacht Show, Asia’s first dedicated superyacht show.
Horizon yachts have confirmed they will participate and showcase their Horizon 136 motor yacht at The Rendezvous in Monaco, held from 23-26 June 2011. It will be the first time Horizon has attended this superyacht event since Horizon joined the SYBAss (Superyacht Builders Association) in October 2010 as the first SYBAss member from the Far East.
Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Singapore, Mr. S Iswaran opened the much-anticipated inaugural Singapore Yacht Show at the ONE°15 Marina Club. The three-day event, which ran from the 8-10 April, featured an impressive flotilla of yachts brought to the exhibition by global industry leaders from the US, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan and China among others. In addition there is a first-time appearance from home-grown superyacht builder, Megaway Engineering and Trading.

The most important boat show in the Asian world came to an end several hours ago: the 2011 edition of the Hainan Rendez-vous. ONE°15 Marina Club Singapore had announced the completion of its 3rd Phase marina pontoons expansion in time to host the Singapore Yacht Show which takes place from 8 to 10 April, 2011. The expansion has created an additional 66 berths, added to the 204 already completed in Phase 1 and 2, and fulfils ONE°15 Marina Club’s promise to its members for a 270-berth marina.
The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) in Singapore will introduce a the Advanced Power Pleasure Craft Driving licence in the second half of 2011 for those operating yachts 24m and above. “The Advanced Power Pleasure Craft Driving Licence is in anticipation of future pleasure craft which could be larger,” an MPA spokesperson told MediaCorp.
