South African superyacht builder, Southern Wind, has proudly announced the launch of the new Southern Wind Sailing Academy, which will be officially presented at this year's 12th Southern Wind Trophy in June.

The prestigious South African luxury yacht builder, Southern Wind, is proud to announce the launch of the new Southern Wind Sailing Academy. It will be officially presented at the upcoming 12th edition of the Southern Wind Trophy on 5th of June 2014. The event will be held at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) in the fascinating Italy yacht charter destination – Porto Cervo in Sardinia and will run from the 3rd to the 7th of June, 2014.

Southern Wind Sailing Academy’s focus is to improve seamanship and sailing skills among passionate yacht owners, crews and sailors.

This project’s aim is to educate participants to both performance and blue water sailing culture, through the following elements:
– tailor made activities, according to each client ‘s objectives and expectations.
– a selection of the most reliable and exclusive partners available on the market, chosen according to each different activity.
– an exclusive fleet made of Southern Wind Yachts and other performance smaller sailing yachts.
-a ‘five stars’ Southern Wind service supporting clients in the whole project.

The Academy will operate as a Division of Pegaso Srl, Southern Wind Marketing Representative and its official Director will be announced during Southern Wind Trophy Official Dinner ceremony.

Southern Wind Sailing Academy’s pilot inaugural course will start in Genoa on 7th May 2014.

It has been tailored on 10 international passionate guests wishes, as an introductory course for the Offshore Yacht Master achievement during the next Transatlantic Super Yacht Regatta, where the team will race on board of a Southern Wind Yacht in the ‘racing with comfort’ formula.
