Daimler AG and Rolls-Royce launch public tender offer for Tognum AG

Daimler AG and Rolls-Royce Group plc today launched their voluntary public offer for the majority of Tognum AG through their 50:50 joint venture Engine Holding GmbH. Further to the announcement issued on March 9, 2011 the offer document has been approved by the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin).

Audi MedCup Circuit 2011: Azzurra to represent Italy

The prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda have confirmed that they will compete on the Audi MedCup Circuit 2011 in the colours of the new Audi Azzurra Sailing Team with a crew built around a core group of sailors from the 2009 TP52 World Champions Matador. Guillermo Parada, Francesco Bruni and Vasco Vascotto will lead the team.

1st Singapore Yacht Show opens this weekend – Asia’s first superyacht show

A brand new superyacht exhibition opens its doors this Friday, 8 April 2011 at ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove. The widely-anticipated first edition of the Singapore Yacht Show will present a first-class line-up of sailing and motor superyachts, as well as displays from some of the leaders of the international yachting industry, despite being launched only four months ago.

Gulf Craft, the Middle East’s and Asia’s most successful builder of luxury cruisers and superyachts, has embarked on a major campaign to further penetrate the emerging luxury yachting markets of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. With the help of existing regional dealers, the company is planning a major presence at the Singapore Yacht Show on April 8-10 followed by Boat Asia in Singapore on May 12-15 showcasing the Majesty 88 and Majesty 56.

A new Transatlantic Maxi Yacht Cup

The International Maxi Association (IMA) is pleased to announce the Transatlantic Maxi Yacht Cup, the transoceanic crossing of the Atlantic towards Caribbean at the end of the Mediterranean sailing season will now end in the British Virgin Islands. Simultaneously the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda will organize a new event starting on the same day: the Transatlantic Superyacht Regatta, reserved to maxi boats with LOA upper than 30.51, boats more cruising than racing-oriented.

Overmarine Group (Baglietto, Cantieri di Pisa, and Mangusta) was represented at the 26th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show by MarineMax Yacht & Brokerage Group. Running from March 24th to 27th during spectacular weather, thousands of attendees visited the dedicated display featuring the following scale models: Mangusta 92’, 108’ and 148’; and Baglietto 46 Meter.

Auckland International Boat Show

The Auckland International Boat Show will again be held in the heart of Auckland City in the magnificent Viaduct Harbour. This venue was developed to serve as the base for the 2000 and 2003 America’s Cups and now provides an ideal sheltered haven for the boat show. With a letter addressed to Club Canottieri Roggero di Lauria, the Golden Gate Yacth Club has accepted officially the Venezia Challenge into the 34th America’s Cup.

ONE 15 Marina Club completes 3rd Phase of marina expansion creating a 270-berth marina in Singapore

ONE°15 Marina Club Singapore had announced the completion of its 3rd Phase marina pontoons expansion in time to host the Singapore Yacht Show which takes place from 8 to 10 April, 2011. The expansion has created an additional 66 berths, added to the 204 already completed in Phase 1 and 2, and fulfils ONE°15 Marina Club’s promise to its members for a 270-berth marina.
