PROJECT HAWAII

Measuring 87m (285′), motor yacht Project Hawaii was constructed by the respected German shipyard Lurssen, renowned for building numerous top-quality custom-made mega-yachts cruising around the globe. This 2020-launched superyacht features flowing, timeless lines by the British studio Bannenberg & Rowell, featuring such popular deluxe amenities on board as the circular Jacuzzi hot tub with surrounding sun pads or a large beach club to launch the fantastic array of toys stored onboard.

At this stage there is limited information available, however, she is expected to accommodate approximately 12 guests on board in 6 staterooms, each with private en suite bathroom facilities. Guests will have a choice of numerous dining options both inside and out, spreading over the several expansive deck areas. High-tech audiovisual equipment, WiFi and air-conditioning add to the overall comfort onboard, while a professional crew will ensure the smooth running of the yacht and services on board at all times.

The yacht is powered by two MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines of 2,311hp each and features a white hull and superstructure.

Quotes

“I once had a client who told me, “I will put your name on the side of my boat if it’s good, but if the boat is not good, your name will appear three times as big.” We were brought up with the sense that it is a very personal obligation for the family when we sign a contract to deliver a yacht that the client expects. I cannot go to a client and say “One of my guys made a mistake.” He would say “Is he Mr. Lürssen, or are you Mr. Lürssen?” But a successful delivery is also a great reward. I take the relationships of my clients very personally.” – Peter Lürssen of Lürssen Yachts (courtesy SuperYachtTimes)

‘…total originality in yacht design has become more difficult to attain following Jon Bannenberg’s masterful levels of creative daring.’ – “I don’t want to lead everything back to my dad — but it’s well known and accepted that, whether it’s his big round windows, or certain lines, or a way of treating wings on a superstructure, they all inspired many people and I think that’s fair game. I think all people’s design processes, whether subliminal or not, are recalling something — whether it’s something that’s stirred, or triggered something, or sparked an idea, or an unintentional homage to someone.” – Dickie Bannenberg talks of yacht design and his father Jon Bannenberg’s groundbreaking work.
