MERAKI

From Vitters Shipyard comes the 49.7m/163ft luxury ketch MERAKI, with a design from Hoek and interiors by Rhoades Young Design. The design team included sailing legend Chris Bouzaid to advise on hull shape and Clay Oliver for optimisation of underwater appendages. The focus has been on long-distance performance, reliability and comfort, with the Owner expected to cruise to remote locations and take part in regattas. She is constructed in high-tensile aluminium and was launched in January 2020, with delivery to her Owner later in the year. The accommodation sleeps a maximum of nine guests over four en-suite cabins, with an expert crew of eight for smooth sailing.

EXTERIOR

The sail plan has been extensively optimised and tested, with a versatile mizzen jib in addition to a mizzen staysail and gennaker.

Above deck, S/Y MERAKI features a large central cockpit with two steering stations. A second cockpit has a sprayhood for protection and can be found forward of the deckhouse. This area is designed for guests and crew, with access to the bow crew section. A third and final cockpit can be found towards the stern, and it has direct access to the Master suite below.

INTERIOR

The interiors were done by Dick Young of Rhoades Young Design in conjunction with the Owner, Hoek Design and Vitters for optimal flowing layout while integrating all the essential technical components. The customised interiors feature contemporary classic styling using high quality materials and excellent attention to detail.

The lower deck layout places the crew accommodation forward with the salon amidships and the guest accommodation aft, with the full-beam Master suite having direct access to the deck above with its own private cockpit. The upper lounge provides a second comfortable, light-filled space for indoor relaxation and dining in air-conditioned surroundings.
