Bradley Rotholz and Debra Michaels both grew up with the love of the water, just on different coasts. When Bradley was hitchhiking rides to the Jersey shore, Debra was enjoying the family boat on Lake Cachuma whenever she had a chance. Their common loves didn’t connect until their chance meeting on a boat at a wedding of mutual friends where Captain Bradley was working. Captain Bradley holds a U.S. Coast Guard 500 Ton Master’s License with a celestial endorsement. He worked with Hornblower Yachts for several years and that experience was a stepping stone to private yachts. Greeting all the guests on the cruise was one of his favorite duties. If you ask him what the favorite wedding he performed was, he would tell you about the union of Weddy and Wanda Woo (their weal names).

Debra was working at her own bookkeeping business for almost 2 decades and then decided to make her life easier. Little did she know the call would come one day from Captain Bradley on M/V Pacific Explorer to come cook for 35 kids and adults on a 3 day trip. Can you be here in 2 hours? Debra jumped at the chance and spent several more years collecting some of her favorite memories. There is nothing like seeing the face of a child when they have accomplished something awesome!

Bradley and Debra’s decade of experiences together have taken them from the sunny coasts of Mexico to Alaska, Maine to the Keys and the Bahamas to the Caribbean. Life on La Marchesa will return them to the Pacific Northwest once again where they are looking forward to collecting some more good memories and making new friends.

Chef Bibi Martinek’s creativity started in her mother’s kitchen in her native South Africa. She has always had a love for art and cooking, even as a young child. She tells a story about crushing stones of different colors and turning the results into picture masterpieces.

It has been a long time since then, and Bibi’s artistic and culinary talents have expanded and can be enjoyed from breakfast to evening desserts. Bibi has been with La Marchesa for over two years and is a delight to be around.

Her professional career began as a young woman at Florida Culinary Institute. Because of her love of traveling, she ended up in the yachting industry. Since then Bibi worked in many states across the country and then on yachts from Maine to the Caribbean and the Mexican Rivera to Washington State.
