MIA Chairman Andrew Chapman said, “Kang brings a strong knowledge of the Asian market and in particular his home market of Korea. His company has become a leader in waterfront developments in the region and he is a passionate advocate of quality marina development.”

MIA is actively involved in supporting the growth of the marina industry in Asia via its education and Clean Marina Programs and Gold Anchor Marina Accreditation. According to an earlier press release from the association, Kang was strategically placed on the board to help MIA better understand and address the unique needs of the emerging market in Asia.

Kenny Kang said he found his first Board meeting very enlightening and he was honored to be the first MIA director from outside of Australia. “MIA is widely respected across Asia as the lead marina industries association. I look forward to assisting MIA in building relationships and cooperation with the Asian marina industries.”

CKIPM Marine Group is a licensee of Bellingham Marine. The two companies formed an alliance in October of 2011 to support the growth of Korea’s marina industry. “It’s great to see Kenny involved with MIA,” said John Spragg, General Manager of Bellingham Marine’s Australasian operations.  “His input gives another view of the world of marinas and his contribution will broaden all of our perceptions.”

As the world’s leading marina design-build construction company, Bellingham Marine produces Unifloat® concrete floating dock systems as well as timber and metal frame systems. The company also produces Unistack® dry stack systems for marinas worldwide.
