The 2011 luxury sailing yacht ANTARES III, built by Yachting Developments, has been awarded the “Best Sailing Yacht 30-40m” at this year´s World Superyacht Awards. With naval architecture and exterior by Dixon Yacht Design as well as luxurious interior by Rhoades Young, this spectacular vessel provides a full beam Owners cabin, two large guest cabins as well as upper and lower saloon. She is managed by a crew of 4 professionals.

The 30m (98ft) sailing yacht Antares III has received the “Best Sailing Yacht 30-40m” award during the 2012 presentation of the World Superyacht Awards 2012. The Antares superyacht is a breathtaking composite pilothouse sloop, launched by the prestigious NZ builder Yachting Developments in May 2011.

The luxury yacht Antares III naval architecture and exterior styling is by Dixon Yacht Design, with interior design by Rhoades Young, during construction owners representation was provided by Patrick Yeoward.

Custom built by Auckland boatyard Yachting Developments in an unprecedented 400 day build time, the 30m superyacht Antares III has proven an absolute success story for all concerned, the vessel has already completed her maiden voyage in the South Pacific with her very experienced and happy owner onboard.

Antares III yacht accommodation consists of an upper and lower saloon that are open to each other, two spacious guest cabins and a full beam aft Owners cabin with private deck access. Forward of the galley and crew mess is accommodation for four crew members.

Built to comply with stringent Germanischer Lloyd and MCA classification requirements, the vessel is incredibly strong yet 25%-30% lighter than similar vessels built in Aluminum, this is achievable by the use of composites. The composite structure is post cure epoxy Eglass/Carbon/Kevlar incorporating high strength foam sandwich technology. The hull has a Kevlar outer skin giving increased impact resistance.

The blonde teak interior was built in-house by Yachting Developments specialist tradesmen with a horizontal grain and is contrasted with wide Walnut planked floors.

Antares III sports a state of art carbon fibre mast, furling carbon boom and carbon fibre standing rigging, supplied and manufactured in New Zealand by Southern Spars, sails by Norths NZ.
