The Crown Estate invests once again in Scotland´s Rhu Marina

The Crown Estate is to invest again in Scotland´s Rhu Marina, situated in a picturesque location on the side of the Gareloch on the north side of the Firth of Clyde. The wooden decked walkways, pontoons as well as fingers at the marina will be replaced with more robust concrete decked equipment.

The Crown Estate announced last week that it will provide Scotland´s Rhu Marina with an additional round of investment to replace the wooden decked walkways, pontoons as well as fingers at the marina with more robust concrete decked equipment supplied by Scottish company, Varis Engineering.

Quay Marinas Managing Director, Simon Haigh, said ‘This is very welcome news and the improvements will massively upgrade the level of facilities at the marina and will provide a more secure environment to keep boats afloat all year round. The contract has been awarded and work will be starting shortly.’

About Rhu Marina
Rhu Marina lies in a picturesque location on the side of the Gareloch on the north side of the Firth of Clyde. It has 235 deep water berths and 35 swinging moorings and can accommodate 140 yachts in the shore storage area. Rhu Marina is home to a wide range of tenants offering a variety of marine services. HM Coastguard and the RNLI are also based at the marina.

From the start of the 2011/12 season Rhu Marina has had the benefit of replacement Southern and Western floating breakwaters which have been installed at a cost of some £1.4 million.
