New COLUMBUS 46 m superyacht under construction at Palumbo shipyard

Motor yacht Columbus 46m is a full-displacement vessel currently in build at the Italian shipyard Palumbo Yachts with her completion due in 2013.

Recently we have reported the launch of the latest Palumbo built mega yacht Prima. Another exciting new vessel is currently under construction is the COLUMBUS 46 superyacht, due to be delivered in 2013 by Palumbo Yachts. The full-displacement motor yacht Columbus 46 was designed by Studio Design Spadolini and will feature a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure.

The interior of the superyacht Columbus 46 features browns, tans and cream tones giving her a neutral feel. The bridge deck hosts the bridge and sky lounge as well as Captain’s accommodation. Below is the full beam Owner’s stateroom with a fold-out balcony on the starboard side. Entertainment and dining area is located aft as well as the main saloon and the formal dining room. The yacht’s tender and the jet skis are store  one deck further down in a storage room located aft.

The mega yacht COLUMBUS 46 is powered by two Caterpillar 3508B engines that power her up to a maximum speed of 16 knots. Her displacement at full load is about 400 tonnes. Columbus 46 has an excellent range of 4,000 nautical miles at a comfortable speed of 12.5 knots with a fuel capacity of 60,000 lt.
