CRUSADE

The 19.2m (64ft) pedigree racing yacht CRUSADE was launched in 1969 by Souters Yard in Cowes, Isle of Wight, and underwent extensive refits in 2011 and 2022, blending classic craftsmanship with modern performance. Commissioned by newspaper baron Sir Max Aitken and designed by renowned naval architect Alan Gurney, she was built using cold-moulded wood construction with laminated frames, a technique prized for its strength and lightweight agility.

Originally crafted for competitive offshore racing, CRUSADE claimed line honours in the 1969 Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race shortly after being shipped to Australia, and later became a standout in the Admiral’s Cup fleet. Today, she remains a multi-award-winning vessel, fully coded for offshore charter and equipped with a carbon rig, B&G navigation instruments, and a new suit of North race sails, ensuring both heritage and high performance.

She accommodates up to 4 guests overnight, typically arranged as two couples. The interior features a spacious saloon with dining and seating, a full-beam aft owner’s cabin, and a forward double cabin, each with en-suite facilities. Her layout is ideal for couples.
