LIND

Luxury yacht LIND ( ex APRIL, BELLE AIMEE, BEL ABRI) is a 52m displacement Amels Limited Editions 171 superyacht which was designed by Tim Heywood. Launched in 2010, APRIL underwent an extensive refit in 2013 including an interior upgrade and the addition of a full onboard dive centre with wet lab. She has received last refit in 2025. Built by Amels with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, her interior design was created by Laura Sessa in conjunction with the owner. She can accommodate 11 guests in 5 cabins.

The yacht’s owner decided to increase the size of his suite by eliminating the main-deck starboard stateroom found aboard other 171’s. The master stateroom of motor yacht LIND consists of a full-beam forward cabin on the main deck with a king-size bed, private office and living room, separate dressing room and large en-suite with shower, tub and his and hers sink.

When British yacht designer Tim Heywood drew the sleek lines of LIND, he took his inspiration from the sweeping curves of Italian sports car design of the 1930s. “I aimed to achieve a look that I would describe as ‘athletically feminine’,” he said. “Also, I incorporated some of the styling features that normally you’d only find on much larger yachts. I wanted the AMELS 171 to feel like a very grand yacht. For example, it has a fabulous 20-meter sun deck, which would not look out of place on a 90-meter yacht.”

LIND offers generous spaces for outdoor entertainment on 3 deck levels. The alfresco areas have been emphasized on the request of the owner, featuring a larger than usual Spa Pool on the sun-deck, which is protected by a windscreen. Amongst the many personal touches to luxury yacht LIND, there is also a massive projection screen on the sundeck, where guests may enjoy many movies from the Kaleidoscope server while sipping a cool cocktail from the full wet bar. The entire sundeck can be covered with Biminis for added comfort if requested.

The interior of this Amels superyacht LIND was designed by Laura Sessa who thematically tied some of the interiors to the outdoors, particularly the bridge-deck lounge by selecting white and blue fabrics. “Each deck highlights a different type of wood, such as maple, walnut and sycamore,” explained Sessa. “For example Maple is featured on the main deck and Zebrano on the bridge deck, with the dark wood Sucupira running as a common theme throughout the whole interior. I find that on yachts of this size that the bridge deck is where the owner tends to spend the majority of his time, where he has breakfast with the family, and so we have white and blue colours in the fabrics to maintain that connection with the sea outside.”

The 52.3m Dutch built LIND yacht can reach a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of around 13 knots giving a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles.
