Together with the Rodriquez Marine design team, naval architect Francesco Paszkowski has developed with the a layout which responded to the list of special requirements for this yacht. These requirements included a spacious and useable interior volume which is mixed with an obvious streamlined and modernistic exterior styling. One of the solutions is to employ the “wide body” formula which provides space and stability whilst allowing the yacht to be striking and sleek from the side profile. This also allows for roomy aft deck areas for entertaining and having fantastic access to the ocean. Three quarters of M/Y ‘Light Blues’ main deck is occupied by relaxation areas, including the spacious cockpit which is completely sheltered by the projection of the superstructure. There is great access to the aft sundeck is by two stairways at the sides. The luxury yacht’s dining area in the forward section is divided from the lounging sofa area by a structure housing a daytime bathroom and the stairway that links the decks, as well as a large bulkhead screen facing the sofas. The amidships section of this deck is occupied by another saloon with sofas, armchairs, latest generation audiovisual systems, a bar and the spectacle offered by the great windows. Outside, in the zone aft, there is an open air living area and a sundeck farther aft with very large cushions and moveable tables. The yacht’s interior has been developed to give greater emphasis to her ample volumes, and to this end clean lines have been employed which give each space a modern and linear appearance while maintaining that aesthetic warmth which, in this writer’s opinion, a yacht must possess. ‘Light Blue’ offers superb both natural and artificial illumination of every area on board, resulting in solutions such as great windows and sophisticated state-of-the-art lighting systems. The whole is enclosed within an unmistakable style which represents the point of departure for Rodriquez Yachts.

The overall lines of ‘Light Blue’ were conceived to echo the grace and beauty of a swan in that she should be graceful yet powerful and exude an air of elegance as would be expected from such an important yacht. From the top level industrially designed furniture and fittings to the soft, clean, modern and functional accessories, the interior ambiance creates a comfortable and pleasurable place to be. The lighting throughout tastefully brings to life the cream and sand tones as well as accentuates the dark tones.

Another noteworthy feature of M/Y ‘Light Blue’ is the reduction of noise and vibrations through the adoption of a particularly flexible structure in aluminium that guarantees high absorption of these phenomena throughout the vessel. All the yacht’s monitoring and control equipment and stabilisation systems are the work of Rodriquez Marine System who have employed the technology used for the latest generation high speed vessels. ‘Light Blue’ is a superyacht with a semi-planning sharp bottom aluminum hull which can reach a maximum speed of 25 knots. At a cruising speed of 23 knots she has a range of 850 miles, powered by two 2.130 HP Caterpillar 3512B engines coupled to fixed pitch screws in V-drive.
