Baltic Yachts has announced that the 43.3m Baltic 142 foiling yacht CANOVA has begun sea trials in the waters surrounding the Jakobstad shipyard following her launch in June.

Her naval architecture comes from Farr Yacht Design who have established a long term relationship with the shipyard, and the interior styling is the work of Lucio Micheletti in conjunction with the Baltic Yachts in-house team.
Luxury yacht CANOVA is designed for performance and comes equipped with some of the latest sailing technologies for comfort and stability. In addition to her squaretop mainsail and Rondal mast and rigging this includes a Dynamic Stability System (DSS) that uses a sliding foil which can extend to a length of 9m/29.5ft. When deployed while sailing at speed, the foil produces a speed increase of 5-20%.

The system was developed in collaboration with Gordon Kay from Infiniti Performance Yachts and has often been used in smaller sailing yachts, although this is the first time it will be integrated into a yacht of this size, running directly beneath the Owners’ suite.
The accommodation sleeps up to eight guests over 4 en-suite cabins, including the Master suite amidships that makes use of the full 9m/29.5ft beam.
From the main deck salon, a coach-roof extends out to create a sheltered alfresco living and dining area with automated windows to expose or further shade this area as desired. Further aft a plush sofa/sunbed gives guests sweeping views out over the stern.
Superyacht CANOVA also comes installed with a diesel-electric Visedo/Cummins propulsion system for reversing out of dock and travel in still conditions.
