50m Superyacht MASA launched by Heesen Yachts

Heesen Yachts have announced the launched of their latest superyacht, the 50m MASA, designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects with interiors by Cristiano Gatto.

The renowned Dutch shipyard Heesen has announced today the launch of the YN 18750 superyacht MASA which took place on the 5th April. Built under the project name Aster, MASA measures 50 metres and belongs to the 5000 Aluminium Class range.

The yacht’s name MASA, perfectly summarises the elegance, luxury and quality of build of this vessel can be translated into ‘my diamond’, a diamond in its purest form, which is a symbol of the highest form of royalty. She is the 8th hull in this successful 5000 Aluminium Class series and features striking sporty lines, graceful appearance and comfortable guests spaces.

Light, fresh and elegant interiors were designed by Cristiano Gatto, boasting a light palette of colours with accents of silver, creating a calm and balmy ambience throughout. The flexible accommodation includes five guests cabins on the lower deck, while the master suite has been placed on the main deck forward. A total of twelve guests can stay overnight on board, serviced by a professional and highly-skilled crew of nine.

Frank Laupman of Omega Architects was in charge of her exterior lines, that incorporate a pelican-beak bow with reverse sheer and sporty mast, making MASA stand out in the crowd.

MASA’s all-aluminium semi-displacement hull has been designed, engineered and welded by Heesen’s in-house team to perfection. She is expected to reach a fast top speed of 23 knots thanks to two MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines. At 50 metres and coming in below 500GT, she brings together performance, comfort, space and refined luxury.

The yacht will now remain at the yard’s harbour basin for the final stages of construction and the commissioning of her systems. She will then set out on her maiden voyage to Hellevoetsluis where she will commence sea trials and official tests before finally being handed over to her owners in June 2019.
