Baltic Yachts has announced the successful delivery of sailing yacht Y, a Baltic 85 Custom which was launched in Jakobstad, Finland and bound for Southampton, UK.

The silver-hulled mini luxury sloop BALTIC 85 MINI Y is designed with an emphasis on performance as a cruising sloop and was created by naval architects Bill Dixon Yacht Design to be easy to sail short-handed. The sloop rig with a removable inner forestay combined with a lifting keel providing excellent power and responsiveness under sail.

The interiors from Mark Whiteley Design boast a spacious living room and accommodation for up to 6 guests over a Master suite and two further guest cabins. 3D modelling and the Owners’ extensive history of sailing resulted in an invaluable input in planning the interiors, with engineering and technical spaces dedicated to a bank of 30 Lithium-ion 24-volt service batteries with a large 2200 amp/hr capacity.

The Baltic 85 Custom is constructed using an E glass outer skin, a carbon inner and a foam core. As a result, sailing yacht Y has a displacement of only 50 tonnes when she is trimmed back.
