Baltic Yachts has announced that the Baltic 142 Custom sailing yacht currently under construction at the shipyard is due for delivery in 2019.

Designed as a sloop-rigged performance cruising yacht, she features naval architecture and exterior styling from Farr Yacht Design, while the interiors are a collaboration between Lucio Micheletti and Baltic Yachts’ in-house team.
The fitting is currently underway and lamination of the carbon composite hull is continuing to schedule. A single-piece superstructure is also being constructed and in the meantime a dynamic stability system foil casing will be installed in the bilge.
A diesel-electric propulsion system is also underway and its machinery room is being built outside of the hull, to be installed at a later date.
The innovative design has a dynamic stability system was developed in collaboration with Gordon Kay from Infiniti Performance Yachts and uses a sliding foil that can extend up to nine metres in length. It is the first time this technology will be used on a yacht of this size and is expected to result in a top speed increase of 5-20% depending on weather conditions.
Using the lifting keel, she can reduce her draft from 6.5m/21ft to 3.8m/12ft for navigating in such shallow areas as the islands in the Eastern Mediterranean or the Caribbean and Bahamas.
Once completed, the accommodation will sleep a maximum of eight guests over four cabins which include an amid-ships Owner’s suite.
The Baltic 112 Custom is also due for launch in 2019 and measures 34 metres in comparison to the Baltic 142 Custom LOA of 43.3 metres.
