The Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth, UK is coming out of the busiest winter period in its 30-year history, having undergone 11 refits and the construction of a brand new sailing yacht.

Among the superyachts currently being refurbished is 39m/128ft luxury sloop G2 previously known as CINDERELLA IV, undergoing extensive interior changes for her new owner.

Featuring naval architecture from Tripp Yacht Design and built by Vitters in 2009, S/Y G2 was originally constructed as a state-of-the-art carbon fibre hull with a lifting keel. Taking styling from both contemporary and classical influences, she originally had a vertical bow and large white-framed windows for the pilothouse and rear cuddy cabin. The modern design will create a sleeker appearance by creating a lower profile, creating an uninterrupted band of windows for the windshield and removing railings along the foredeck.

The ready cuddy cabin, which was originally intended for use in less temperate climes, will be removed altogether to make room for a greater outdoor social space. The pilothouse will benefit from an enormous skylight that will also brighten the upper lounge further to showcase the beautiful minimalist modern interiors from Nauta Yacht Design. The Owner’s cabin now has even more room after a bulkhead was re-positioned farther aft.

Technical, navigational, communications and sailing systems are also being upgraded by Pendennis to ensure that S/Y G2 remains a striking modern masterpiece with all the latest comforts and conveniences. She is expected to be ready for sea trials in June after completing her nine-month refit, after which she will be cruising the Mediterranean during the summer.
