The majestic 65-metre mega yacht ADIX has been successfully re-launched by Pendennis, following her major 8-month refit. Luxury sailing yacht ADIX was hauled out in August 2014, after participation in her second Pendennis Cup.
Re-launch of the 65m superyacht Adix at Pendennis
The refit of superyacht ADIX included engineering works, with new generators, main engine, bow thruster and rudder installed. Exterior improvements included a redesign of the yacht’s deck house, which has been moved further forward and mixed up with a seating area to provide better interaction with the Owner’s accommodation. Her external design was additionally enhanced with four new portholes to each side of the vessel.
Originally launched in Spain in 1984 to an Arthur Holgate design, luxury yacht ADIX has a long heritage with the Falmouth yard. The relationship started in 1991, when the vessel underwent a transom modification and full interior strip out, with design by Dykstra Naval Architects. Thanks to this remodelling programme, ADIX was named as ‘Best Refit’ in the ShowBoats Design Awards of that year. This was the fourth time that this classic three-masted schooner has undergone refit at Pendennis.
Following her re-launch at the beginning of May 2015, ADIX yacht was the first vessel to be welcomed by Pendennis’ wet basin, and since then further 5 yachts varying in size from 25m to 86m have been welcomed into the new facility, including superyacht Northern Star, the J-Class sailing yacht Lionheart, as well as the classic motor yacht Malahne as they completed their refit and restoration programmes.
