The Claasen team has kicked off the year 2015 in a festive mood as they celebrate thirty years of service to the yachting community. The prestigious luxury yacht builder was established in 1985, when the company first made its name in the Dutch market for flat-bottomed yachts. By the mid-1990s, they had begun constructing yachts which mix up traditional looks with ultra-modern underwater configurations, and 19 Truly Classics have been launched so far.

More recently Claasen has been part of the J-class revival. They launched the magnificent superyacht Lionheart in 2010 and are currently building ‘SVEA’, based on the 1937 design by Tore Holm. As they launch into their fourth decade, the goal is to expand Claasen’s presence in 30 to 40-metre classic and performance sailing yachts. The yard will also become even closer to owners and crews by taking part in and sponsoring events like the Superyacht Cup.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming launch of a Truly Classic 126 yacht will showcase an increasing focus on new technologies and innovations. At the same time Claasen will continue to maintain their reputation as down-to-earth yacht builders who are very close to their clients. This spirit of cooperation has been the yard’s driving force over past thirty years and will continue to be crucial in the future.
