Originally launched in 2002 and refitted in 2008, luxury motor yacht Lauren L had been having some issues with the air-conditioning onboard struggling to keep up. Titan Fleet Management called in WGI Vinyl Finishing Services and asked the team to apply a mirror effect to the inside of the windows to alleviate the problem.  The mirror effect was to fit in with the paint scheme and to allow for owners privacy whist on-board their yacht. The project took place in Sardinia, taking six days to complete. The job was done between charters maximising time on the water with minimal disruption.

The Titan Fleet Management were impressed with the results: “The windows look great and the interior temperature has lowered.  We are now seriously considering substantial work to the exterior and other yachts within our fleet.”

The technology that WGI employ to create this effect is based on research originally related to US aerospace and military use. The films used by the specialist team are world’s first wavelength selective window coating that provides a virtually transparent protective barrier against the sun’s heat and radiation.
