Pendennis Shipyard in UK‘s Falmouth is now almost unrecognisable from just over one year ago. Major development began in February 2013 and has seen replacement of the previous main construction hall with two 90m halls, alongside an additional 45m hall. This complements the existing 150m dry dock and offers more flexible space for refit and new build superyacht projects at the 6.5 acre site.

The buildings phase will be completed this month with the addition of a four-storey workshop/office/hospitality complex.

Phase 2 Development: Adjustable Depth Wet Basin

The next part of the two-phase development plan is already underway as Pendennis begins the creation of marine-based facilities, as shown in this graphic impression.

An adjustable depth wet-basin will be created directly in front of the yard, with the longest arm of the basin planned to be 100m thereby enabling several visiting yachts, or larger 60m+ projects, to be based directly alongside before and after their refit or build periods at Pendennis.

This next phase is due to be completed in Spring 2015, finalising the transformation of Pendennis into one of the most impressive facilities in the world.
