Entries are now open for this year’s Camper & Nicholson Marinas Trophée Bailli de Suffren, the 600 mile classic yacht race from St-Tropez to Malta. Set to kick off on Saturday 22 June, the three-leg race will comprise stopovers in the popular Mediterranean yacht charter destinations – Porto Rotondo in Sardinia as well as Trapani in Sicily.

With C&N as title sponsor, the event is now in its 12th year and up to 30 classic yachts are expected to make the start in St-Tropez. In past years the fleet has ranged from 40 foot, century-old wooden masterpieces to the 185 foot (56m) three-masted charter yacht ATLANTIC.

“We are extremely proud to be lead sponsor of the Bailli de Suffren,” said Kurt Fraser, Sales & Marketing Director of C&N Marinas. “This event is the perfect blend of tradition, seafaring adventure, and friendly competition. Given Camper & Nicholsons’ history, it is entirely fitting that we should add our support to this unique celebration of classic yachting.”

Known to many as “the Mediterranean’s most beautiful yacht race”, the Trophée Bailli de Suffren is a grand 21st century sailing tradition for classic sailing yachts over 11 metres – a rally of special friends, old and new. The offshore long-distance classic race is the brainchild of three friends Henri-Christian Schroder, Christian Benoit and Pierre Hugo with a shared desire, “to be serious without taking ourselves too seriously.”

The Organising Authority includes the host ports’ yacht clubs, with race officials co-ordinated by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez. Entries must be submitted by Saturday 15 June.
