62M OCEANCO YACHT LUCKY LADY REVIEWED
Nothing is left to chance aboard Oceanco motor yacht LUCKY LADY, crewed by an enthusiastic team of 15, lead by the capable Captain Scott Barsin, that are ready to sweep a group of up to 10 guests on exotic adventures. Built in 2002, this impressive 62.6m/205.5ft motor yacht has been kept in top shape by her Owner, with her most recent refits taking place in 2017 and 2022. Each living area is ready to meet the occasion, be it a spectacular celebration or a low-key family event.
Over the years, charter guests have been effusive of their praise and (with?) the crew, cementing her reputation for reliable, consistent quality and service on the charter market. It comes as no surprise that the attentive crew, delectable cuisine as prepared by Chef Kieren Lam and lively yet peaceful ambiance on board have created a loyal following that keeps her charter calendar filled long in advance.
The interiors
Understated elegance from François Zuretti characterises LUCKY LADY through earthy tones from the Norwegian birch burl and dappled mahogany, high-quality finishes and simple yet effective displays such as the back-lit wine cellar opposite the main deck bar.
In what has become an uncommon arrangement seeing from revival in recent times, the formal dining room is separate from the main salon to create a distraction-free environment for dining and even meetings, for corporate event charters and guests who need to stay connected to the business world.
The main salon remains sizeable aboard this 62-metre superyacht, and is divided into a large forward lounge and a smaller glass encased sitting room aft, and a wet bar in between.
The Master suite is on the Owner’s deck forward, and all the amenities on this deck can be dedicated solely to the occupants of this suite, or left available for all to use.
Among the amenities is a private office/study, and a generous skylounge separated into different social areas: A wet bar and drinks/games table make a cosy corner beside the port windows, while opposite a plush sofa, day bed and armchairs around a large table form a welcoming spot for the group to converse and admire the views. Behind, another sofa and armchairs with side tables produces a quiet spot for close conversation or spending time on personal interests before dining alfresco on the Owner’s deck aft.
All decks are accessible via the lift/elevator for the convenience of all guests.
In the engine room, twin Caterpillar 3512 B DITA engines grant an excellent cruising range of 3,100 nautical miles, able to take guests throughout the Caribbean, the Bahamas islands as well as the ever-enticing Mediterranean Sea without interruption.
The exteriors
Every moment spent outdoors is a moment of leisure, with a range of active and sedate options to pass the hours. The main deck aft, upper deck aft and sundeck forward offer alfresco dining options which vary from casual to formal, the latter deck also having a bar for a variety of refreshments to suit the occasion. The occupants of the Master suite can choose to have the foredeck all to themselves as a private outdoor lounge for chatting over drinks or catching up on reading in the shade.
Sun worshippers have two large spaces to make themselves at home: The main deck aft sunbeds and the sundeck aft sun loungers. The fold-down lower deck swim platform can also be deployed for guests who like to be close to the sea, catching glimpses of the local marine life gliding through the glassy water.
As the hub of outdoor life, the sundeck also has the benefit of a plunge pool featuring a waterfall side that spills down into a little paddling pool ideal for younger guests. Lastly, the aft section can be used as a golf tee – discussed in more detail in the section below.
The water toys
M/Y LUCKY LADY has a long-established reputation on the charter market, and the experience of her Owner and crew has meant that there is a large list of water toys available for all ages and interests.
Status as an Approved RYA Water Sports Centre allows guests to use the two 3-person Yamaha VX Deluxe Waverunners and earn a jet ski licence during their stay. The rest of the collection includes:

In addition to all of the above, there is a PGA Golf Tee on the sun deck aft that uses eco-friendly golf balls made of fish food. A full party beach setup is available for dining, lounging and partying in style on the luscious beaches found throughout the Mediterranean, the Bahamas and Caribbean.
Guests who want to burn off excess energy while cruising have the gym on the lower deck, where there are various weights and machines for a full and effective workout.
The accommodation
When it comes for guests to retire for the night, a group of 10 will find five well-appointed and generous en-suite cabins awaiting them.
The Master suite on the Owner’s deck is part of a spacious apartment dedicated to the Owner or the principal charter guests.
The three VIP staterooms on the lower deck are not wanting for space either: All come with a king-sized bed and a sofa in addition to the desk/vanity, widescreen TV and large wardrobe capacity. Large circular windows let the natural light pour in, further amplified by the bright white surroundings.
The last guest cabin is a ‘twin’ containing two double beds, making the room suitable for another adult couple. As with the other cabins, guests have privacy while retaining natural lighting, and the room is furnished with entertainment systems, ample storage and an en-suite bathroom.
With all the amenities available on board, there is a talented crew of 15 to ensure that nothing interrupts the itinerary.
