The popular luxury yacht destination in Spain, Denia, is currently developing a new superyacht marina, providing moorings to yachts up to 60 metre in length. The facility, which will offer its superyacht customers exclusive services will be located within a calm and tranquil inner basin of Denia harbour and against one of the most beautiful backdrops on the Mediterranean coast.

Port Denia, whilst boasting some of the state of the art marina facilities is unique in one respect; it comes with the shipyard, offering haul out capacity of up to 70m and 2000 square metres of specialist workshops. The shipyard provides all the services and backup as necessary. The marina however, is situated on the town quay and it does not physically form part of the shipyard, being ideal for the summer season.

Located just to the south of Valencia and two hours from the Balearics, the new marina will occupy a strategic and logistically privileged position. Indeed, it is a perfect springboard for the yachts heading for Gibraltar and the Caribbean.

Main features of the superyacht facility are:
  • Berths up to 60m
  • 2 rail system slipways up to 70m
  • Power supply up to 400 amp
  • 150T travelift
  • Bunkering service
  • 21 000 square metres of dry docking area
  • Satellite TV and Internet
  • 2000 square metres of specialised workshops

Varadero Port Denia has also provided services to the famous globe circumnavigating charter yacht Drumbeat – a 55m Alloy Yacht.

It was closely followed by the other thoroughbreds of the sailing fleet; superyacht Aiglon, sailing yacht Parsifal III and S/Y Mari Cha III, all choosing to place their confidence in the shipyard. None of the yachts were disappointed. All tight deadlines, impressive work list and the Caribbean charter season looming were met with relish by the shipyard’s workforce.

Services provided include:
  • Hull and superstructure repair and painting
  • Generator rebuilds
  • Main engine system overhaul
  • Teak deck repair
  • Removal of shafts, propellers and rudders and testing
  • Interior carpentry
  • Refrigeration and air conditioning service
  • Black/Grey tanks blasted and painted
  • Navigation equipment service
  • Valves, seacocks and anodes
  • Manufacture of bespoke awnings and covers

Furthermore, the shipyard has completed in record time a major refit and a complete repaint project of motor yacht Samurai One, a 44m Oassive superyacht. Major overhaul below the water line and a modification to the superstructure were also mentioned.

Captain Jose Chacopino was also very pleased with the services: ” As the captain of ‘Samurai One’, before confronting a major refit, I analysed capabilities of different shipyards in Spain and France. I finally decided on Varedero Port Denia for the professionalism and excellent quality to price ratio. The final result has been a complete success. I recommend these facilities to all captains who are contemplating a refit.’
