The last day of this year’s 31st edition of the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week saw bucket loads of sunshine as well as puffy 18-20 knots of SSE trade winds.
Day 5 of the 2014 Audi Hamilton Island Race Week was marked by a fresh breeze and return of the S-SE trade winds. Racing will be concluded tomorrow, on August 23, 2014.
Following three days of light weather, the trade winds are steadily building at currently running Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2014. The forecast is for up to 25 knots for the last day of the 6-day regatta on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
The 182-strong fleet is currently at the midway point at this year’s Audi Hamilton Island Race Week. Today’s race saw Bob Oatley race aboard his 100-foot superyacht Wild Oats XI. Tomorrow is a day of rest for crews.
Today, August 17, 2014, was marked by the official start of racing at the 2014 Audi Hamilton Island Race Week. Day 1 saw plenty of sunshine and light winds.

Attended by a record number of 34 yachts, this year’s Rolex China Sea Race was marked by a veteran victory of 87-year-old Syd Fischer – skipper of superyacht Ragamuffin 90, and 74-year-old Neil Pryde – skipper of sailing yacht Hi Fi.
This year’s 27th edition of Rolex China Sea Race is set to start tomorrow, on April 16. The race will be attended by a strong fleet of 34 yachts, including such impressive vessels as the 100ft superyacht Wild Oats IX.
