Expressions of interest have been formally open to local and international bidders for the development of a 1,6 hectare site in the Wynyard marine area of Auckland in New Zealand into a major new superyacht refit facility.
Bellingham Marine New Zealand has been awarded a design/build contract for the construction of X and Y Piers at Westhaven Marina, nestled in the lovely New Zealand yacht charter location – Auckland.
To be delivered by the well known UK-based company Bellingham Marine, the first major development is set to get underway at Auckland’s Westhaven Marina this month.
Silo Marina, located on Auckland’s waterfront in New Zealand, has increased its capacity and doubled its size, in order to accommodate yachts and to make it easier to install masts as it is getting ready for the upcoming season.
Auckland will again be a stopover for Volvo Ocean Race in 2015 as well as 2018, as proudly confirmed by Waterfront Auckland. The waterfront hosted almost 300,000 visitors during the last stopover in March 2012.
