Today 18 June saw the successful launch of the first WallyCento class superyacht Hamilton at Hythe in the UK. Built by Green Marine, this 100-foot exceptional vessel features naval architecture by Judel/Vrolijk, while her interior design is by Design Unlimited.
The 2nd edition of the Rolex Volcano Race was concluded with the Rolex party and prizegiving at La Canzone del Mare on Friday 25 May, with Sir Peter Ogden’s 60ft Mini Maxi yacht Jethou winning the Rolex Trophy and timepiece as well as the 112ft superyacht Nilaya receiving a Rolex timepiece as a line-honours winner.
The overall victory in the 2012 Rolex Volcano Race has gone to the 60ft yacht Jethou, followed by the 112ft luxury yacht Nilaya taking second place and the Wally 100 superyacht Y3K placing third.
The first vessel to finish the 300-nautical mile course of the 2012 Rolex Volcano Race was the Filip Balcaen’s 112ft superyacht Nilaya, followed by the Claus-Peter Offen’s 100ft sailing yacht Wally Y3K taking second place and the Sir Peter Ogden’s 60ft Mini Maxi yacht Jethou placing third.
