Velux 5 Oceans has signed an agreement with PredictWind to ensure the most accurate weather information available to skippers and race management during the race.
Young emerging solo sailor Louis Duc, has announced today his withdrawal from the 2010/2011 Velux 5 Oceans race. He has taken the decision after struggling to find enough financial support and also due to an insufficient amount of time. The remaining eight sailors are ready to tackle the grueling 30,000 mile race.
Two of the Eco 60 sailing yachts, the Brad Van Liew’s Eco 60 sailing yacht Le Pingouin and Garry Golding’s Oz sailing yacht have taken onto waters after their makeover and are ready for the Velux 5 Oceans Race.

The VELUX 5 OCEANS has announced the dates of the starts of the five ocean sprints in the 2010/11 edition of the race. The race will start and end in the French port of La Rochelle France, in between visiting Cape Town in South Africa, Wellington in New Zealand, Salvador in Brazil and Charleston in the USA.
