The International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI) has recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in the beautiful Meditteranean yacht charter location – Malta.
October 27 in Malta’s capital city Valletta saw the official prize giving ceremony of this year’s Rolex Middle Sea Race. The Medot Sailing Trophy was presented.
Esimit Europa 2 superyacht will face two new challenges: the approximately 600 nautical miles long passage between Trieste (Italy) and Valletta (Malta) as well as the Medot Sailing Trophy.
The ancient fortress city of Valletta, the former 16th century “Sacra Infermeria” of the Order of St John of Jerusalem, was host to the prize giving and close to 800 guests for the 31st edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race.
If the early miles of the Rolex Middle Sea Race Valletta, Malta, were a test of patience, the latter miles were a true test of endurance. A strong mistral of up to 40+ knots helped push the fleet homeward to the finish in Malta.
At 18h 32m 32s CEST on Monday, sailing yacht Esimit Europa 2 (SLO) received line honours for the Rolex Middle Sea Race in Marsamxett Harbour. The Slovenian maxi’s elapsed time was 2 days, 6 hours, 52 minutes, 32 seconds.
