The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet left for San Francisco Bay for the start line. The world´s longest race (40,000 miles), there is a 5,500 mile leg ahead, from California on the US West Coast to New York on the East Coast via the Panama Canal.

Italian yachtsman, Flavio Zamboni, will race at the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race as interim skipper of Edinburgh Inspiring Capital. Flavio, a 38-year-old yachtsman, who was born in Venice and lives in Southampton, UK, has a competitive racing background.
