Two of the world’s prestigious manufacturers in the superyacht sector, Gulf Craft and Tognum Group, announced their partnership, in order to provide their customers with better value, offering the German engines as first choice on the Majesty Yachts.
MTU distributor Al Masaood and Arabian yacht builder Gulf Craft signed a preferred partner agreement at the currently running Dubai International Boat Show. This will allow the yachts in the Majesty series to be powered by MTU Series 2000 and 4000 engines as first choice.
Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH is attending this year’s Genoa Boat Show, presenting its Blue Vision New Generation automation system. It has been tested in the 34m luxury yacht SL 104 by Sanlorenzo. This splendid vessel is also on display in Genoa.
Northern Lights is to produce MTU branded gensets from 5 to 280 kilowatts, subsequently offered for sale for commercial vessels as well as pleasure craft by the Tognum sales organization.
Dr. Michael Haidinger, a current President of Rolls-Royce Deutschland, has been selected by Tognum as its new Chief Sales Office from July 1, 2012.
Tognum, the specialist for propulsion and power solutions, will expand its Aiken Plant for MTU engines, situated in South Carolina, USA. Expansion plans for the MTU Aiken Plant include two new research and development buildings that will house new engine test equipment, as well as additional visitor and employee parking areas.
The Tognum Group, a specialist for propulsion and power solutions is to invest more than €90 million in the new plant close to the City of Stargard Szczeciński in North-West Poland.

Tognum are unveiling their new state-of-the-art MTU Series 2000 engine at the Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show 2011 from 6-11 September at the JAS-027 stand on Albert Edouard Sud jetty.
Daimler AG and Rolls-Royce Group plc today launched their voluntary public offer for the majority of Tognum AG through their 50:50 joint venture Engine Holding GmbH. Further to the announcement issued on March 9, 2011 the offer document has been approved by the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin).
