Mulder Shipyard in the Netherlands has announced that construction will soon start on a new yard. This second yard will cover an area of 7000 square metres and focus on the maintenance, refit and new build of yachts between 18 and 40 metres. It should be ready to start operations in 2012, with the first new yacht launching in 2013.
Balk Shipyard and Felix Buytendijk Yacht Design have joined efforts again to create a new 36,4 metre explorer superyacht.
Moonen are delighted to announce the order for a brand new Moonen 82 Alu, a 24.45 metre high-speed aluminium motoryacht, (Building Number 196). The Moonen 82 Alu will be capable of reaching 25 knots and have an exceptional range for a fast yacht, being able to cruise much further than vessels of an equivalent size and speed.
The semi-displacement 43.5 m motoryacht Latitude built by Acico Yachts was a project initiated in 2007 with a concept design by Dutch designer Cor de Rover and naval architecture by Van Oossanen and Associates. Superyacht Latitude was delivered to her owners in June 2010.
The Dutch yard K&M Yachtbuilders were chosen to build a 26.83m sloop called Tulip designed by German Frers with a Sinot Yacht Designed interior. Sailing yacht Tulip is scheduled to be delivered in Spring 2012.
K&M Yachtbuilders currently have 12 custom aluminium yachts under construction in Makkum, The Netherlands inlcuding an Icon 48, a Frers 88, six Bestevaers and four Bestewinds.
WhisperPower has signed an agreement to supply the two Dykstra redesigned sailing yachts Yankee and Rainbow with a special hybrid power and propulsion systems. Both yachts are currently under construction at Holland Jachtbouw in the Netherlands.
