Project 229, motor yacht Achilles and super yacht Linda Lou have had their refits completed during the month of April at Pure Superyacht Refit in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Headed by Nic Clarke, a former professional skipper and project manager, Pure Superyacht Refit has had a surge of new business as a result of its growing reputation within the superyacht industry.
Motor yacht PEGASO, is a 73.60m (241.47ft) private research expedition yacht, built and launched at the shipyard P. Freire de Vigo Galicia Spain in 2010 and will be delivered in 2011. The superyacht PEGASO features naval architecture by BMT Nigel Gee and Associates, exterior Design by H2 Yacht Design (UK) and interior design work from Mark Berryman. Master Yachts have opened a refit management office in STP shipyard in the Port of Palma. This operations office expands Master Yachts’ presence in Palma and will be an onsite base for refit project managers as well as providing office and meeting facilities for Captains and crew of yachts in the port.
The 47.21m replica schooner Y105 has been launched by the Spanish shipyard Factoria Naval Marin (FNM) at their shipyard in Marin over the weekend. The FNM yacht Y105 is a replica of sailing yacht Germania, the schooner designed in 1908 by Max Oertz for the German Kaiser Wilhelm II. With her Spars included, she has a full length of 59.60m and features a steel hull with wooden deckhouses and rig and two masts.
The 45m motor yacht FOLLOW ME V has been launched by the Spanish shipyard Factoria Naval Marin (FNM) at their shipyard in Marin. Yacht FOLLOW ME V was built under the hull number Y 104 and features naval architecture by FMN, exterior lines designed by Reymond Langton from London and a timeless interior designed by Design Studio Spadolini from Italy
Atollvic Shipyard is currently refitting the 49m superyacht Tumberry C, a superyacht originally built by Benetti in 1998. The shipyard, based in Vigo, Spain has been commissioned to complete a variety of refit jobs which includes painting of the steel hull and part of the aluminium superstructure, and replacing the main teak deck as well as completing work on the interior furniture. The work is expected to take three months to complete.
Preparations are well underway for the 2011 Superyacht Cup regatta from 22-25 June in Palma. So far, 16 yachts have registered for the event including five brand new entries that have never competed in the event before. Space at the Muelle Viejo only allows for a maximum of 20-22 entries.
