Solent Refit has just completed two major refits of the 34m charter yacht Sudami as well as MV Babylon, and the company is already preparing for other refits, including two 35m+ vessels and the 38m superyacht Moonbeam. They will also refit the 62m charter yacht Lady K II – their biggest project yet.
The Southampton-based Solent Refit is going through a busy season, working on projects such as the luxury charter yacht Light Blue, the motor yacht Osprey, the charter yacht Sudami, the luxury yacht Spada, as well as the Lunar Mist yacht. The company has also recently welcome project-management expert Phil Millard and a Project Manager Johnny Byrnes.
One of the best large yacht refit and repair facilities in the UK, Solent Refit is going through a number of changes and is working on a couple of new projects.
As result of strategic support given by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Lymington-based composite yacht builder, Green Marine, is to move its production facilities to Hythe Marine Park.
Throughout 2010, activity at the SEEDA owned Hythe Marine Park has increased significantly. Last year, SEEDA created Solent Refit, a unique refit and repair facility for large yachts that has recently launched superyacht PJ 170 – PJ-501, the first Palmer Johnson Sportsyacht built in the UK.
Today Palmer Johnson launches their first of three PJ 170 motor yachts, the PJ-501. The PJ-501 Yacht is going to be the largest sport yacht built.
