Wednesday, October 15, was marked by the 2014 Shipwrights Lectures. One of the most thought-provoking events to date was attended by over 200 apprentices, shipwrights and students, together with their employers, lecturers, as well as guests.
Date for this year’s fourth Shipwrights’ Lecture for marine apprentices, young shipwrights and marine graduates has been announced. The event will take place at the Turner Sims Hall, University of Southampton, on Wednesday, October 15, at 14.30.
This year’s annual Shipwrights Lecture, organized by the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights, will be held on October 23, once again hosting the industry leaders from the leisure marine sector.
This year’s Annual Shipwrights Lecture has reported a great success. The event was attended by apprentices representing such important luxury yacht building companies as Sunseeker, Princess, or Pendennis.
To be held on 17th October, this year’s Shipwrights Annual Apprentice Lecture will feature lecture given by Andy Claughton from the Wolfson Unit, part of the University of Southampton, as well as a panel discussion led by Sue Grant, Managing Director, Berthon International.
The President of Sunseeker Yachts, Robert Braithwaite CBE, will act as a closing speaker of this year’s Shipwrights Annual Lecture, held this October. Among 300 delegates are such other prestigious luxury yacht builders as Princess, Pendennis, Fairline and Discovery Yachts.
With last year’s participation of such outstanding UK-based luxury yacht builders as Sunseeker, Fairline, Princess, Pendennis and many others, the 2012 Shipwrights Lecture was confirmed for October 17.
