The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet left for San Francisco Bay for the start line. The world´s longest race (40,000 miles), there is a 5,500 mile leg ahead, from California on the US West Coast to New York on the East Coast via the Panama Canal.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors today approved the agreement to host the America’s Cup in San Francisco from September 7 to 22, 2013.
