The San Francisco Board of Supervisors today approved the agreement to host the America’s Cup in San Francisco from September 7 to 22, 2013. One of the most fiercely competitive and sought after trophies in all of sport, the America’s Cup, was first raced in 1851 around the Isle of Wight, 45 years before the modern Olympics.
New deal has been submitted to the Board of Supervisors, which supports San Francisco as the host city to the world’s most prominent sailing event, the America’s Cup, in San Francisco during the summer of 2013.
The 2011 America´s Cup Act has approved by US Senate and US House of Representatives.

In 2010, developers of the marina hired world renowned marina contractor, Bellingham Marine, to completely rebuild the south basin including new docks with larger slips, upgraded utilities and more.
