The America’s Cup Event Authority (ACEA) has collaborated with Sailors for the Sea as the Official Clean Regattas Partner of the 34th America’s Cup. The main focus is to make the 34th America’s Cup a sustainable event.
Next week’s America’s Cup World Series San Francisco broadcasts will be lead by the 1977 America’s Cup winner and well known commentator, Gary Jobson.
Tuesday 2 October will be marked by the start of the second 2012-13 America’s Cup World Series, attended by AC45 catamaran yachts and hosted by San Francisco Bay. This popular event will last until October 7.
ORACLE TEAM USA is expected to launch their first catamaran yacht AC72 this week. This spectacular vessel boasts a 130-foot wingsail and its first sail is scheduled for Friday.
Around 150,000 spectators gathered in San Francisco Bay to watch the first America’s Cup World Series in the host city of the 2013 America’s Cup. A huge success of this popular race is still present in the city.
The overall winner of the ACWS San Francisco has become ORACLE TEAM USA Coutts, followed by ORACLE TEAM USA Spithill and Artemis Racing White, respectively. The next ACWS race in San Francisco will run from October 2 to 7.
ORACLE TEAM USA Spithill keeps its leading position, gaining the total number of 61 points and taking first position in the leaderboard. The American team is followed by Energy Team and Team Korea, respectively.
Racing Day 3 of the ACWS San Francisco was marked by a collision caused by the ORACLE TEAM USA Coutts, bringing this team to 10th position in the leaderboard, while Team Korea reached 2nd place, following ORACLE TEAM USA Spithill.
Racing Day 2 was very successful for the home team, ORACLE TEAM USA, taking the leading position. The ORACLE TEAM USA Spithill has thus gained 22 points up to now.
Yesterday, 22 August, saw the start of the America’s Cup World Series in San Francisco, as the first event of the 34th America’s Cup on San Francisco Bay. Both the Luna Rossa team as well as the Ben Ainslie’s J.P. Morgan team were very successful on the first day of racing.
