Sailing yacht Twizzle the new 57.5m flybridge ketch recently launched by Royal Huisman has introduced a policy of carbon offsetting her fuel. The Owner of superyacht Twizzle has also chosen to offset the embodied carbon footprint from the energy and principal materials used in her construction.
The 57.5m sailing yacht Twizzle was launched and named on Monday 12 July 2010 in Harlingen in Northern Holland and had her Mizzen and Main masts stepped the same day.
Sailing yacht TWIZZLE is Royal Huisman’s first superyacht as styled by Redman Whiteley Dixon – with Todhunter Designers and the owners providing interior decoration – and the first yacht build as designed by the well known naval architecture Ed Dubois and the first sailing yacht with a flying bridge.

An experienced yacht owner couple, the former owners of motor yacht Twizzle, have brought an exciting yachting team together to build the 57 meter ketch rigged center board superyacht called sailing yacht Twizzle. This team includes Dubois Yacht Designers, Royal Huisman Yacht Builders and Redman Whiteley Dixon Design group as well as the owners themselves.
Chosen from among the three award winners in the sailing yacht classes, the judges felt that the combination of beauty and extremely high quality of construction concentrated in yacht Hanuman made her a worthy winner of the title Sailing Yacht of the Year.
The new 49m Spirit of Tradition Ketch’s hull was turned successfully at the Royal Huisman shipyard. The 49m Ketch with a hull number 388 stood upright for the first time and will carry on without a name until her official launch and christening ceremony.
