Bob Oatley’s super yacht Wild Oats XI made history by claiming a record-breaking eighth line honours victory, while Oatley’s former boat, the 43-ft sailing yacht Wild Rose, secured her second overall victory in the race.
The majestic 100-foot Maxi yacht Wild Oats XI has claimed her eighth line honours victory at the currently running Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2014. The vessel has completed the race in 2 days, 2 hours, 3 minutes and 26 seconds.
The yachts taking the leading positions at the currently running 2014 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race are approaching the halfway mark of the 628-nm race. Supermaxi yacht Wild Oats XI is currently leading the fleet.
Jim Clark’s 100-ft Maxi yacht Comanche (USA) is currently leading the fleet in the 2014 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, followed by seven-time line honours winner superyacht Wild Oats XI by one nautical mile.
Preparations for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2014, set to start on Friday’s Boxing Day, are in full swing. The race will be attended by five 100-foot Maxis, including the all-new superyacht Comanche.

Currently undergoing refit work at Cooksons in New Zealand, the 30m IRC super maxi yacht Rio 100 (ex Zana, Konica Minolta, Lahana) will feature a full race inventory of carbon ICE sails, which will be supplied by Doyle Sails NZ.
