The Super maxi sailing yacht ICAP Leopard has announced that they are retiring from the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race 2010.
The start of the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race started at 1400 hours local time on the 23rd of August 2010. Sailing yacht Groupama 70, was delayed following a collision with another boat whilst still tied to their mooring. Setting off around fifteen minutes late, Franck Cammas and his crew onboard the Groupama 70, powered away and managed one by one to overtake 25 of their 27 rivals in some rather harsh sailing conditions and a light worthy of Beken of Cowes.
The RORC have decided to reverse the course of the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race due to a severe weather forecast for the west coast of Ireland predicted for Thursday 26th August. The fleet will now race anti-clockwise around Britain and Ireland. The start remains unchanged from the Royal Yacht Squadron line to the east at 14.00. This should give the fleet a fast running start towards the forts in the Solent.
The ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous is a cruising event which has been developed by Nautor’s Swan to allow Swan owners to participate in an exclusive Swan event during the Caribbean season. The 2011 event will again be held at the prestigious Bitter End Yacht Club and will see the fleet sail in the turquoise Caribbean waters to some of the stunning British Virgin Islands.
The Superyacht Cup Palma 2010 is shaping up to be the best yet, with 20 yachts already confirmed for the three days racing and a full social programme of activities for every evening. The World Famous Red Sox, who played to the jubilant crowd at The Superyacht Cup in 2007 and again in 2009, will be looking for support from the budding musicians in the fleet.
There was spectacular racing today for all classes on windward leeward courses in the strait between Capri and Punta Campanella. The majestic island of Capri acted as a perfect back drop but also created some tactical nuances requiring forward thinking and high precision sailing.
This year, for the first time, the regatta forms part of the high profile 2010 Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge Series, which as well as the Cowes event, features some of the world’s leading classic yacht regattas, including the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta and the Régates Royale, Cannes.

The Falmouth – Falmouth Rum Race will run in the opposite direction to the traditional Route de Rosé – the event will begin at the Antigua Yacht Club in Falmouth Harbour as a fleet start, following Antigua classics with the option for yachts to start earlier if they prefer, with a possible stop in the Azores on route.
