Attended by a record number of 34 yachts, this year’s Rolex China Sea Race was marked by a veteran victory of 87-year-old Syd Fischer – skipper of superyacht Ragamuffin 90, and 74-year-old Neil Pryde – skipper of sailing yacht Hi Fi.
Today, April 19, 2014, saw five of 34 yachts complete the 2014 Rolex China Sea Race, with superyacht Ragamuffin 90 claiming line honours.
Syd Fischer’s Maxi yacht Ragamuffin 90 has sealed line honours at the 2014 Rolex China Sea Race, completing the course in 57 hours, 31 minutes and 18 seconds.
This year’s 27th edition of the 565-nm Rolex China Sea Race kicked off yesterday, hosting a fleet of 34 international yachts. The largest competing boat in the 2014 event is superyacht Ragamuffin 90.
This year’s 27th edition of Rolex China Sea Race is set to start tomorrow, on April 16. The race will be attended by a strong fleet of 34 yachts, including such impressive vessels as the 100ft superyacht Wild Oats IX.
The biennial Rolex China Sea Race will start on April 16, 2014. The 2012 edition of this popular race was won by the 90ft superyacht Genuine Risk, competing this year as ‘Ragamuffin 90’.
The new record has been set by the 90-foot superyacht Ragamuffin (ex Genuine Risk) in the Audi Hong Kong Vietnam Race. This spectacular vessel was built by McConaghy Boats to a design by Dubois Naval Architects.
